What is rhetoric?

"Rhetoric is nothing but reason well dressed and argument put in order" - Jeremy Collier

Rhetoric is the art of persuasive communication. In a college applications essay, your goal is to persuade the admissions committee that you are a driven, intelligent, and eager student. You can control how the committee experiences and perceives your essay by employing concepts of rhetoric.
